After the secret end of Max Payne 2, Max wake up in jail, in a questioning room, and is rescued by other prisonners who are trying to escape (the cleaners he haven't killed during the game).
His only chance to discover what happened between the Manor and his awakening is to get out of the jail alive and find Mona. She must have the answers to his questions.
